Self | Cell is a project that explores the concept of the self-portrait, instead of creating the expected images of the face, I start with images of my blood cells through digital media and printmaking/painting. The resulting images examine order and chaos, light and darkness… ultimately the ’self’, touching on traits such as neurodivergence and heritage.
This project builds on a previous collaboration with a scientist at Oxford University, funded by The Wellcome Trust, where we worked on communicating her research into immunotherapy in accessible and creative ways.
